Things are getting intense….and on the eve of the mid-term elections, things are getting crazy. Let’s take a look at two last second publicity…..stunts.
Alan Grayson supporter disrupts Dan Webster Rally: Hey, I got an idea. Let’s go to a rally for someone that I’m not supporting and cause some trouble. This video shows exactly that (video attached). This provoked confrontation (and it was provoked) by a Grayson supporter and caught on camera by a documentary crew has gotten a lot of media attention. This supporter stood directly behind Dan Webster’s pick-up truck and did every obnoxious thing he could, until Bruce O’Donoghue had to go over there and regulate on him. There was a small scuffle until a Webster’s press secretary came over, broke it up, and apologized to the troublemaker.
You’re gonna tell me that this wasn’t planned? It sure looks, like it was.
The Webster campaign does not attack. Not on TV, not in debate, definitely not on Highway 50 during rush hour. Did O’Donoghue take the bait? Yeah, but to call a press conference and cry like you were just mugged and beaten, is complete garbage.
“This is the same impulse to violence that killed Robert Kennedy, it’s the same impulse to violence that killed Martin Luther King,” – Alan Grayson.
Your joking right? You have to be, that quote is nuts and on the verge of being offensive.
This is what really happened. A desperate Grayson campaign needed to get something on TV to paint Dan Webster as a villain and this was the best they could come up with. Webster wouldn’t fight back so they pushed him around on the playground until one of his friends did. It was juvenile, pathetic and really kinda sad.
The Webster campaign and his press secretary handled that trap and provoked confrontation with exceptional class. She gave the man his sign back, apologized and let him go on his way.
She took the high road, when confronted with gutter politics and Alan Grayson was left trying to make an anthill look like a volcano. This was one last jolt of electricity into the race, that everyone argues about.
Voters are smarter than this.
Governor Crist’s early morning phone call to Kendrick Meek: If Charlie Crist was running for re-election in the Governor’s race, I would vote for him. This guy is hilarious! He reminds me of Ben Linus from “lost”. He will do anything to get the job done. This guy belongs on a sitcom. I’ve said before and I will say it again, I’ll miss him when he’s gone.
Alright, so check it. The Guv calls Kendrick Meek and leaves this voicemail . Is it me or does this sound like a follow up phone call to a really bad date? You know, the phone call when you tell the girl that you’ll call her, but both of you really know that is was mediocre time. Just like those kind of phone calls, this one was also not returned.
It’s a crazy time in Florida Politics and with only a day and half until elections, I will be sad to see it go.
Take Care Buddy..(Charlie has got me cracking up!)
