Seminole County Clerk of Court Maryanne Morse has announced she will be retiring this week after 26 years of service to the community. She has also endorsed former Seminole County Commissioner Grant Maloy as her successor.
“I an endorse an individual who is a small business owner, shares the majority of my philosophy and will continue to manage the office in a respectful and responsible manner and who will do his utmost to protect your assets.” said Morse “I would ask the voters of Seminole county to join me in supporting Gran Maloy as your next Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller”
There had been speculation over Morse’s future for the past several months, when candidates started filing to run in 2016, that speculation shifted towards retirement. Malloy is currently running against fellow former Commissioner Mike Mclean and Sammy Gibson for the office.
“Maryanne Morse, has an excellent reputation for being our ‘taxpayer watchdog’. ” said Malloy in the announcment “Her audits and recommendations have helped eliminate government waste and save our tax dollars. She has been a strong independent voice of reason. If elected, I plan to carry on that tradition. I’m incredibly honored to have her endorsement.
