Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sent a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Brock Long yesterday requesting that FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA) set up operational Disaster Recovery Centers and Business Recovery Centers in Flagler, Lake, St. Johns, and Volusia Counties to assist with recovery from Hurricane Irma.
In the letter, DeSantis states that these recovery centers will be vital to help the community with both immediate needs and long-term recovery. He also pledges the assistance of his office in finding locations and coordinating with local, county, and state government entities.
“Navigating available federal benefits after a disaster can be difficult,” said DeSantis. “Establishing FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers and SBA Business Recovery Centers throughout our district will provide constituents with one-on-one expertise and help expedite recovery. My office is committed to streamlining resources for our community, and I am ready to assist in any way necessary.”
