Graham Workday Includes Food Prep, Policy Talk

Gwen Graham spent the Tuesday before Thanksgiving working with Project Annie, helping prepare free meals the group will distribute to the needy on Thanksgiving Day.  The group expects to serve between 1,000-1,200 people on Thanksgiving Day.  This is Graham’s 12th “workday” since she began the campaign.  Speaking at the event, Graham touched on several issues, including the Trump administration’s decision to end temporary protected status, or “TPR” for Haitians who fled to the United States.

“I don’t know if anybody has seen any photos of Haiti, or looked at what the status of the country is now, but they are far from a place that we should we suspending temporary protected status for.” Graham commented.

Graham supports Republican Congressman Carlos Curbelo’s legislation to help recipients gain permanent residency.  Six other Florida representatives, both Republican and Democrat, are backing the proposal.
