Senator Travis Hutson filed Senate Bill 840 “Gaming”

Senator Travis Hutson has filed Senate Bill 840, Gaming. The bill represents a specific and limited approach to the reform of current gaming statutes. The Florida Senate website issued a press release announcing the bill and filing by Senator Hutson.

SB 840 is different from other previous bills on gaming, in that it focuses on four key areas of gaming reform, which include fantasy contests, greyhound and horse racing decoupling, slot machine taxes and designated player games at parti-mutuel card rooms.

Senator Hutson represents District 7, which consists of St. Johns and Flagler counties, as well as a part of Volusia county. Hutson was elected to the Senate in 2015 before serving in the House of Representatives from 2012 to 2015.
