In accordance with Chapter 527, F.S., the following is notice of the recent referendum passed by the Florida Propane Gas Education, Safety, and Research Council (FPGESRC), which approves all propane marketing, educational, and safety programs. The FPGESRC was established in 1997 by the Florida Propane Gas Education, Safety and Research Act. The FPGESRC requested the referendum in August 2017, and it held a public hearing in November 2017.

The result referendum is that the assessment per gallon of odorized propane gas sold or imported for consumption in the state will increase by an additional 1/10 of a cent. The new rate will be $.003 per gallon of odorized propane gas sold/imported.

Pursuant to Chapter 527, F.S., a referendum must win approval of two-thirds of the total gallonage of odorized propane gas voting in the retail marketer class. The results of the referendum are as follows:

Total gallonage voting FOR (YES):                                                          47,216,138

Total gallonage voting AGAINST (NO):                                                  3,438,370

Percent of gallonage represented by FOR (YES) vote:                        93

Percent of gallonage represented by AGAINST (NO) vote:                7
