Chris King Thanks Opponent Phillip Levine For Not Taking $ From The Sugar Industry

After former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine said he will not take contributions from the sugar industry, Orlando-area entrepreneur and Democratic candidate for governor Chris King issued the following statement today:

“It’s good to see another candidate has followed my lead, almost a year after I launched my campaign for governor and declared that I won’t take a dime from the sugar industry. After spending $60 million to buy up Florida politicians on the left and right, Big Sugar has Tallahassee deep in their pocket. Conventional politics says it’s better to stay quiet and take money from the sugar industry as they cripple our environment rather than stand up and speak out against their environmental abuses –– my approach will be to bring fresh ideas and new leadership to protect our environment and economy.”
