Susan Makowksi Becomes First Candidate for Commission District Four

Orange County Commission candidate Susan Makowski is the first candidate in the District 4 election to qualify by the petition method.  Makowski collected 1,460 signatures, exceeding the minimum 1,382 petition requirement needed to qualify.  This will allow Makowski’s name to be placed on the ballot for the upcoming election on August 28th.
Susan Makowski lives in the Lake Nona area, served on her HOA and has worked in the private and non-profit sectors before serving as Chief Administrative Aide to the District 4 County Commissioner over the past eight years.  Makowski’s non-profit experience was for the American Cancer Society and was for very personal reasons.  As a two-time cancer survivor, Makowski took on the task of managing Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and helped organize their largest fundraiser in the state at that time.  In her role as Aide, Makowski helped secure pedestrian safety improvements in Avalon Park and Meadow Woods, a Lynx bus route to Medical City and fought for the rural settlement on Narcoossee Road.
“I am encouraged at the enthusiastic response I received while walking door to door, said Makowski.  “District four is my home and these are my neighbors and I am grateful for their help.”
