The Orange County Commission is expected to be briefed on the possibility of putting cement barriers in front of day care centers. Statistics have shown that vehicles have been involved in accidents on those properties and that children are at risked. It was proven that the barriers could have prevented the death of a 4 year old girl who died last year after a collision.
A project that will be located at the site where the Mt. Vernon Inn currently sits in Winter Park was approved last night. Lake side crossings will be a 38,000 square foot mixed use development. Winter Park residents are concerned that it could make traffic worse near the busy Trader Joes Shopping Center.
