Last night was something else.
We had high profile elections all over the country including New York City, New Jersey, and Virginia. We also had municipal elections right here in Central Florida and while not as high profile as a Chris Christie re-election, these smaller elections often put the lawmakers that can swing a vote one way, or another into office.
Cathy Hoechst will be the new Mayor of Mt. Dora.
Sarah Reece was re-elected to the Altamonte Spring City Commission.
A New Charter for the City of Eatonville that would have also cut the small town into even smaller voting districts, and awarded Mayor Bruce Mount a substantial raise was rejected.
We’ve also got high drama at the Orange County Commission with the western part of the county torn over the location of a possible new High School. Orange County Public Schools wants to build on a rural site near the town of Windermere. Residents of the community are concerned about noise and the possibility of further development in a community that prefers tranquil living.
These stories lead your busy Wednesday Morning Political Headlines.
