Jeremy Ring announces primary endorsement from Florida Professional Firefighters

Former Democratic State Senator Jeremy Ring has announced that his campaign for Florida Chief Financial Officer has earned the primary endorsement from the Florida Professional Firefighters. The association has a membership of over 24,000 located all over the state.

The group voted to award Ring the endorsement after he addressed the group Friday in Sarasota.

“These guys put their lives on the line for us everyday and we need to make sure we have their backs not only by outfitting them with modern equipment, but also by giving them the peace of mind that their families will be provided for in the tragic event that they fall in the line of duty.” said Ring.

The former Yahoo Executive is the only candidate to file to run up to this point. Incumbent Jeff Atwater has announced he’ll be leaving office early which means Governor Rick Scott will have to name an appointee to finish his term leading up until the 2018 elections.

The stop in Sarasota ended a week-long tour for Ring around the state, who spent his time at events and meetings with voters here in Orlando on Wednesday and Thursday.
