Seminole County School Board Chair, Amy Lockhart, has announced that she’s raised about $44,300 in the first month of her County Commission District 4 Campaign. Lockhart is running to replace longtime Commissioner Carlton Henley, who’s announced he will not be seeking reelection.
“Our campaign is off to a strong start, and I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for the support we received in just our first month,” Lockhart said. “My focus will be on the issues most important to our community – public safety, excellent schools, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility. We will run a grassroots campaign focused on responsible, conservative solutions that puts Seminole voters first. As a member of the Seminole County School Board, I have fought every day for our students, parents, and teachers, from eliminating Tallahassee mandated testing to putting recess back into our schools. I will bring that same fighting spirit to the County Commission as an advocate for the citizens of Seminole County,”
Lockhart faces opposition for the seat from Longwood Mayor Joe Durso, who raised $73.3K in the first couple of months of his campaign.
