Uber CEO Travis Kalanick resigns

Uber CEO Travis Kalanick announced his resignation on Wednesday amid pressure from investors and allegations of sexual harassment in the Uber workplace.

“I love Uber more than anything in the world and at this difficult moment in my personal life I have accepted the investors’ request to step aside so that Uber can go back to building rather than be distracted with another fight” said Kalanick in his statement.

Another replacement was not named immediately leading to speculation from the business world over who could replace Kalanick.

Despite drama in its corporate operation, Uber and other ride sharing companies in Florida celebrated a major victory this year, when the state legislature passed a regulatory framework that will allow companies like Uber and it’s competitor Lyft to operate in the state without municipal interference.
