The Democratic Governor’s Association has pushed out a digital ad that attacks Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Republican Candidate for Governor, Adam Putnam, on his silence regarding the on-going health care debate currently taking place in Washington.
The brief 15 second ad reiterates common concerns about the Senate Health Care bill including uncertainty behind coverage for pre-existing conditions and a possible hike in premiums.
Putnam is the only major GOP candidate currently running to succeed termed out Governor Rick Scott. The DGA is airing similar ads in five other states.
“Republican gubernatorial candidates around the country must tell voters where they stand on this disastrous bill,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “From Virginia to Nevada, Republican candidates for governor have gone into hiding on health care. Citizens want to know: Do these candidates support the Senate health care bill or do they oppose it? These ads call on Republican gubernatorial candidates to finally speak up.”
The Republican Governor’s Association has taken a similar approach to the Democratic candidates currently running for Governor ahead of what could be a competitive race for the Governor’s mansion in the 2018 mid terms.
