The domain name registration company that registered DavidDuke.com, the website of former Ku Klux Klan Imperial Wizard David Duke, has donated the fee Duke paid for the website registration to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Duke, a white nationalist who previously served in the Louisiana State Legislature, conducted several unsuccessful political campaigns for Congress, Louisiana Governor, and President, and has been one of the most outspoken voices of the white supremacist movement. DavidDuke.com is his personal website, and Duke promotes it on his Twitter account, where he has over 48,000 followers.
On his website and Twitter account, Duke regularly shares anti-Semitic and racist content, and he has also been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump.

The WHOIS data for DavidDuke.com shows the hosting provider (the company which hosts on their server the website content as well as any email accounts) as CloudFlare and the domain name registration as Directnic.
The Orlando Political Observer reached out to Directnic for comment, and Brian DeLancey, Director of Directnic Customer Support, provided us with a statement explaining that while their company “does not condone violence and hate speech,” no violation of their terms of service had occurred and their contractual agreement prevented them from revoking the domain under the current circumstances.
However, DeLancey continued, Directnic “[did] not seek to profit from organizations that intend to promote hate and violence,” and had decided “in light of recent events” — referring to the past weekend’s violence in Charlottesville — to donate the entire registration fee paid by Duke to the Southern Poverty Law Center in his name.
The Orlando Political Observer has reached out to CloudFlare for comment on this story as well, and will share their response if we receive one.
Directnic.com does not condone violence and hate speech. We are not the web host or email provider for davidduke.com as such no violation of our terms has occurred and our contract with the domain registrant precludes us from any other actions. Directnic.com’s hosting and email policy is to remove those services when a customer’s site incites hate or violence.
The internet and domain name system is designed around resiliency and as a result removing a domain from the internet is not intended to be done without legal backing such as a valid court order.
We do not seek to profit from organizations that intend to promote hate and violence. In light of recent events, we have donated the entire registration fee for davidduke.com to the southern poverty law center in the name of David Duke who registered davidduke.com
