Tallahassee, Fla. – Veterans Florida, a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping veterans transition into civilian life, announced Joe Marino as the new executive director. As executive director, Marino will oversee the administration, programs and the corporations strategic plan of the organization.
Veterans Florida aims to reinforce Florida’s standing as the most veteran-friendly state in the nation by helping veterans develop and implement the skills needed by Florida employers. The non-profit organization provides veteran-friendly education and programs designed to maximize veteran employment opportunities. Through their Career Service Programs, veterans are able to connect with employers who are eager hire them for jobs that put their learned military skills to use. For veterans wishing to start their own business, the Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program provides them the necessary knowledge to successfully launch and operate a company. Their board of directors is comprised of nine individuals from across the state, each with varying areas of military and business expertise.
“Marino brings a wealth of talent and knowledge to this organization,” said Jim Sampey, Chair of the Board of Directors for Veterans Florida. “This position requires the leadership and organizational skills that Joe possesses. As a graduate of West Point and former Army officer with experience in both the private sector and state government, he is a huge asset to Veterans Florida.”
Marino will report directly to the board members at Veterans Florida.
