Orlando, FL – Orange County Comptroller Phil Diamond announced that he has entered into a voluntary collection agreement (VCA) with TripAdvisor and its affiliates including, FlipKey, HouseTrip, and VacationHomeRentals, to collect Tourist Development Taxes. Effective January 1, 2019, TripAdvisor will be collecting TDT on behalf of all Orange County property owners using the TripAdvisor rental platform.
Comptroller Diamond also recently entered into a VCA with HomeAway and its affiliates including VRBO and Vacation Rentals. VRBO is collecting TDT on behalf of all Orange County property owners using the VRBO rental platform and related platforms.
Together, These new VCA’s will enable many property owners to avoid the necessity of filing individual TDT returns with the Comptroller’s office every month. This will also enable the Comptroller’s Office to process fewer tax returns. More importantly, it will help ensure that all Tourist Development Taxes are collected and paid on time.
