ORANGE COUNTY COMPTROLLER PHIL DIAMOND SAVES OVER $6.2 MILLION FOR ORANGE COUNTY TAXPAYERS

0

Orlando, FL — County Comptroller Phil Diamond, CPA, has sent a check for $6,227,933.73 to
Orange County Government now that the 2018-19 fiscal year has ended. That amount is a
combination of higher than expected revenues and operational savings. The Comptroller’s
Office is funded through a variety of fees for service, with only a portion of the budget
dependent upon the county’s general fund.

Diamond stated that “The Orange County Comptroller is the citizens’ independently elected
fiscal watchdog over county operations. It is just as important to be the fiscal watchdog over
my own office. I am extremely proud of the employees in my office who work hard and do
their best for the taxpayers every single day of the year.”

Diamond was sworn in as County Comptroller on January 3, 2017.
