Miami, Fla. — Yesterday, Forward Florida announced a major investment in Hispanic voter registration. Over the next 30 days, Forward Florida will make an important initial $30,000 investment in digital voter registration in key targeted state House races with the path-breaking firm Integrated Communications and Research-Digital (ICR-Digital).
This investment in digital voter registration is Forward Florida’s first wave of digital voter registration ads targeted at Hispanics in battleground state legislative seats. These ads will run on social media and across the web.
“Latinos are the fastest-growing voting block in Florida heading into 2020 — and it’s vital that Democrats act like it,” said Andrew Gillum, chairman of Forward Florida. “We’re building grassroots, progressive infrastructure across Florida, focusing on Florida’s Hispanic communities which too often are overlooked by both parties. Because we are committed to winning up and down the ballot, we are registering new voters in key legislative races — where our gains will help not only flip the Florida House, but flip Florida blue in 2020.”
A leading communications agency in Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean, ICR-Digital is led by Dr. Eduardo Gamarra, professor of political science at Florida International University, and the former director of FIU’s Latin American and Caribbean Center.
“I’m pleased to be working with Forward Florida and Mayor Gillum to strengthen the foundation of our democracy, the right to vote,” said Eduardo Gamarra. “By registering thousands of new Latino voters, together we’ll be building a better, more inclusive future for all Floridians.”
