Dr. Leo Valentin Earns Spot in NRCC Young Guns On the Radar Program

Orlando, FL—Dr. Leo Valentin, Republican candidate for Florida’s 7th congressional district, was selected to be part of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Young Guns—On the Radar” program last week.

“I am incredibly proud of my entire team and network of supporters for working so hard to get us here,” said Dr. Valentin. “Making the Young Guns program is a clear sign that Republicans both in Central Florida and nationwide know that we can win this race and that our campaign is the only one with the strength and momentum to do so.”

The NRCC announced that Dr. Valentin had made the Young Guns program on Friday afternoon. The program is designed to create high performance standards for fundraising, organization and viability, where the bar is set high and those who exceed in its performance are officially recognized.   This program focuses on candidates running in competitive congressional seats. In order to be considered for acceptance into the program, candidates have to have met the minimum thresholds in campaign organization and show potential to achieve greater status in the program as the cycle progresses.  While the NRCC does not tip the scales to favor any one candidate over another in Republican primaries, they do recognize exceptional performance.

The Valentin campaign was selected for the Young Guns program only days after announcing that it had raised more than $250,000 in donations in the first quarter since Dr. Valentin entered the race. The campaign has also rolled out a series of endorsements from Republican leaders in Central Florida, including Longwood Mayor Matt Morgan, Lake Mary Commissioner Justin York, former State Representative, Bob Cortes, and former State Representative John Quinones.

Given his early fundraising success and grassroots support, Dr. Leo Valentin has established himself as the frontrunner in the race for the Republican nomination and the strongest candidate to take on Stephanie Murphy and win the November general election. As an outsider with fresh ideas and a unique perspective, Dr. Valentin appeals to a diverse mix of voters that will carry him to victory on election day.
