SCSO To Release “Our VI Heroes” Documentary

Seminole Co. – As part of National Police Week, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will release a special documentary program, “Our VI Heroes,” to honor the six deputies who’ve sacrificed their lives while wearing the SCSO uniform.

Our VI Heroes covers a period of nearly ninety years in our agency’s history; from 1922, when Deputy Sheriff Cleveland Jacobs was shot and killed investigating a theft case, to 2011, when Motors Unit Deputy Matt Miller was struck and killed while doing traffic enforcement on his motorcycle.

The documentary gives us an in-depth look at the lives of each of our heroes, and their families, who’ve sacrificed so much to make our community safe. It is our duty and our honor to pay tribute to these deputies and their loved ones. Each one of our uniformed personnel wears a special VI pin and displays a decal on the back of our patrol units, to remember all six heroes daily.
