ORRA Announces Slate of Candidate Endorsements for August Primary Election

The Board of Directors at the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association (ORRA) is pleased to announce its recommended candidates for election to office in the 2020 Florida Primary Election on Tuesday, August 18 and August 25, 2020.

Each election cycle, ORRA invites candidates to participate in its candidate screening and selection program for an opportunity to receive the association’s endorsement and campaign support. The candidate selection process includes both a written questionnaire and an in-person interview before a panel of REALTORS®.  Panelists are made up of members in good standing and active participants in the ORRA Governmental Affairs Committee.

ORRA’s Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman, Dan Lopez, moderated panel interviews for nearly 50 candidates year-to-date seeking endorsement in the state, county, and local public offices. For the August Primary election cycle, Lopez and fellow panelists volunteered for more than 25 hours towards screening, deliberating, and selecting candidates.  The panel’s recommendations are submitted as motions to the ORRA Board of Directors for final approval. Recommendations may include financial support from the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and/or funded campaign services.

ORRA believes in the democratic process and supports political candidates regardless of party affiliation, who strongly identify with issues important to the real estate industry, the free enterprise, and the preservation of private property rights.
