]]> Orlando, FL — Renowned community leader Beverly Burgess has announced her candidacy for Orange County Republican Committeewoman. With a reputation for grassroots activism and deep engagement within the community, Beverly is set to bring a new level of dedication and integrity to the Republican Party.

“I chose the Republican Party because the Democrats were not engaging the Black community at all,” said Beverly. “The Democrats would come into our Black and Brown communities, ask for our votes, and they never delivered on any of their promises.”

Reflecting on her journey, Beverly added, “I was an uneducated Democratic voter for 37 years before I switched over to the Republican Party. I’m grassroots, I’m in the community engaging, and I’m putting it out there that Black and Brown people in Pine Hills do vote.”

Beverly’s decision to run was influenced by her dissatisfaction with the current political climate and her commitment to addressing the issues affecting her community. “As former President Trump stated to our Black and Brown community when he ran in 2016: ‘What do we have to lose?’ The final straw for me was the corruption in Orlando City Hall. Mayor Buddy Dyer endorsing Travaris McCurdy, a man who stole from Geraldine Thompson, has $2000 in parking tickets, and the list goes on. City Hall needs an exterminator for all the roaches crawling around.”
