State Senator Darren Soto has announced that his campaign for Congress has raised about $150,000 in the second quarter of 2016. The amount includes a $10k loan,
“I filed to run for Congress over one year ago because I want to help people and bring humility to public office,” said Soto. “These are the same reasons why I decided to run for the Florida House over 9 years ago.”
Soto is currently running for the Orange/Osceola county seat that opened after incumbent Alan Grayson announced he was running for Senate. Soto faces opposition in the high profile Democratic primary from Grayson’s Wife, Dr. Dena Grayson, who announced Friday night that her campaign raised $134K, former District Director Susannah Randolph, and Businesswoman Valleri Crabtree.
“We have an outstanding campaign team,” said Christine Biron, Soto’s campaign manager. “We’re working around the clock to make sure Darren is elected to Congress where we know he will get the job done.”
