State Senator Darren Soto has announced that his campaign for Congress in Florida’s 9th District has been endorsed by the United Automobile Workers.
“Senator Soto has stood shoulder to shoulder with us on picket lines and in the halls of the Legislature,” said Mike Maddox of UAW. “We need more men and women in Congress with a record of fighting for working people – something Darren has done his entire career.”
The United Automobile Workers has 12 local affiliates in the State of Florida. Six of these locals are in the Orlando area. Soto is currently running in the high profile Democratic primary to replace Alan Grayson, who is running for Senate, against his wife, Dr. Dena Grayson, former District Director Susannah Randolph, and Businesswoman Valleri Crabtree.
“Hardworking union members are the backbone of our economy,” said Sen. Darren Soto. “I am proud of my progressive record in the Legislature, where I have fought for higher wages, better working conditions, and more support for working families.”
