The Seminole County Young Republicans will be hosting a debate watch party on Tuesday night, when Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders go head to head in front of a national audience to debate the future of the Affordable Care Act or “Obamacare”.
“President Trump and our Republican Congress are working on a plan to make healthcare affordable for all Americans.” said Seminole YR President Tommy Larsen “I look forward to the discussion of ideas Tuesday night by Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Bernie Sanders. Senator Cruz will be able to highlight where Obama Administration policies have hurt countless young people saddling them with unaffordable insurance premiums and reduced coverage.”
With Donald Trump in the oval office and Republicans in control of both the House and Senate, the stage is set for the GOP to began taking apart former President Barack Obama’s signature legislation. Cruz is one of it’s biggest critics, Sanders one of it’s biggest supporters setting up a dramatic match-up between the two former Presidential Hopefuls.
The event is being hosted at Seminole County Republican Headquarters and only the GOP is invited. Despite a passionate following in Central Florida, there have been no announced watch parties for the Sanders camp.
