Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy was recently featured on the late night comedy “Throwing Shade” where the two hosts highlighted her personal story and first days in Washington in a segment call “You heard of this B!^&$?”.
The spot goes into her biography that many Orlando area politicos are already familiar with, starting with her Vietnamese family coming to the United States as a child, to her early activity to mentioning her legislation that would keep Steve Bannon off of the National Security Council.
Murphy was elected to Congress last November after defeating longtime incumbent John Mica after only a couple of months of involvement in Central Florida politics, and the duo hosting the segment briefly mentions the campaign.
“What’s his name again? Oh, right, it’s not Stephanie Murphy.” says host Bryan Safi.
Murphy currently represents the 7th District which includes parts of Orange County and all of Seminole County. While her upset victory was the bright spot of election night for many Democrats in the region, her swing seat has been targeted by Republicans for 2018.
