Orlando Businessman announced his first round of hires that he hopes will propel him into the Governor’s mansion next year. The group includes Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Charlie Crist campaign alums from around the state.
“I’m encouraged that so many smart, talented campaign veterans are ready to join me in building a new approach to our politics,” said King. “Our campaign will reflect the diversity, energy and possibility of Florida, and with these additions we’ve taken a great first step in meeting that goal.”
Zach Learner was named COO and General Counsel. Learner will lead day-to-day operations for the King campaign. Raymond Paultre will be the Director of Strategic Engagement where he will lead outreach strategy for the King campaign. Stephanie McClung will lead King’s fundraising operation as finance director. Amanda Sands will lead King’s digital organizing strategy. Raul Martinez Jr., will lead South Florida efforts for King.
From here in Orlando, King has hired Juanica Fernandes as Regional Finance Associate. Fernandes left her job as a financial adviser in 2011 to join the Obama presidential campaign as a Deputy Regional Field and Regional Training Director in the Orlando area and most recently served as Enroll America’s Central Florida Organizing Director.
King is running for the Democratic nomination in a field that is only two candidates deep in the morning but will likely grow in the coming months. Tallahassee Governor Andrew Gillum is also running.
