Grab the popcorn for what’s sure to be an action-packed debate between TV comedian and personality Chelsea Handler and conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren, which will be held later this month at Politicon. The third-annual political convention will be held on July 29th through the 30th in Pasadena, California.
Handler, who kick-started her journey to fame with celebrity roasting on her show, Chelsea Lately, has become more political of late on her new Netflix series, Chelsea. Handler has been a highly vocal critic of Trump’s administration. She led the Women’s March at Sundance this past year.
Lahren is a former television host. She was suspended from the Blaze, an American multi platform news and entertainment network, in March 2017 after expressing her belief that women should have legal access to abortion. She has a huge following on social media and many loyal fans.
Handler was originally supposed to debate Ann Coulter earlier last year, a highly conservative author, but Coulter cancelled at the last minute. Lahren doesn’t seem to be following Coulter’s lead and will proceed with the political showdown at the end of this month. Lahren tweeted out, “Let’s do this,” in response to the debate.
Handler will also be featured in a discussion with CNN’s Jake Tapper at the convention as part of that network’s “Politics on Tap” series.
