Darryl Block hosted a kickoff event block party this week on Thursday March 29th for House District 29. Block hopes to help people, children and families in Florida through his election.

Block is a lawyer, social worker and mediator from Lake Mary. He’s running as a Democrat challenging incumbent Florida Rep. Scott Plakon.

Florida Rep. Amy Mercado served as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the fundraiser event. Rep. Mercado is a community leader and advocate for residents of District 48.

Block has a passion for people and helping others. Through his hands-on experience, he has helped assist families, service members and veterans. He’s a proud father and husband that believes in Seminole County and its ever-reaching potential.

The kickoff event was held at 4th Street Bar and Grill in Lake Mary. Attendees were able to personally meet Block and learn about his vision for District 29, as well as for Florida.

Food and beverages were provided for guests. Unique to the block party was that vegan and vegetarian options were included in the menu.

Attendees were encouraged to contribute $100 to Block’s campaign fund. This was not a requirement to attend, and people could come free of charge.
