Nevada General and Democratic Caucus (August 16, 2019)Winter Springs, FL – Gravis Marketing has released its first 2020 Nevada Democratic Caucus poll and finds former Vice President Joe Biden atop the Democratic Caucus field. Biden has the lead in this poll with 25% of Nevada Democrats supporting him. Behind Biden, Sen. Warren and Sen. Sanders are at 15% and 10% respectively followed by Senator Kamala Harris with 9%, billionaire Tom Steyer with 6%, Mayor Buttigieg with 5%, and Sen. Cory Booker with 3%. Meanwhile, Andrew Yang, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Senator Michael Bennett are each polling at 2%. All other candidates are polling at 1% or less. “Senator Sanders almost won Nevada against Secretary Clinton in 2016,” Doug Kaplan, President of Gravis Marketing stated. “Now he is in 3rd place to Senator Warren and Vice President Joe Biden.”
President Trump’s viability against some of the frontrunners for the Democratic nomination was tested as well. In a head-to-head matchup against all the Democratic candidates President Trump would lead several of the candidates, but would come up short against Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Sanders. Biden would lead Trump 49%-43%, Sanders would beat Trump 47%-44%, Sen. Harris would tie President Trump with 45%, meanwhile Mayor Buttigieg would trail President Trump 46%-42% in a head-to-head. Senator Warren would also trail President Trump, by a smaller margin of 47%-46%. “The last time a Republican Presidential candidate won Nevada was President Bush in 2004,” Doug Kaplan reminded, “President Trump was close to flipping Nevada to his column in 2016 and Nevada will certainly remain competitive enough for either nominee in 2020.” President Trump’s job approval in Nevada stands at 53% approving of the President’s job performance and 44% disapproving.
