New Gravis Marketing Poll Show Biden With A Huge Lead In FL and IL

In Florida, Gravis Marketing finds former Vice President Joe Biden leading Senator Bernie Sanders by a 66%-25% margin with 9% remaining undecided. Biden leads among African Americans by a 63-point margin, white voters by a 48-point margin and Hispanic voters by a 3-point margin. Sanders leads by a 11-point margin among voters age 18-29, but trials among all other age groups. Biden’s strongest group is voters over 65 which he leads Sanders among by a 78-point margin. Biden leads among voters of each ideology, but Sanders comes closest among those that describe themselves as “very liberal.” Biden leads very liberal voters by a 14-point margin.

In Illinois, Gravis Marketing finds Biden leading Sanders by a 63%-25% margin with 12% undecided. Biden leads in Illinois among African Americans by a 32-point margin and white voters by a 53-point margin. Sanders leads among Illinois Hispanics by a 9-point margin. As in Florida, Biden leads among all ideologies, though Sanders comes closest with “very liberal” voters only trailing Biden by 17 points.

Gravis Marketing asked of Bernie Sanders voters who they plan to support in the general election. In Florida, 68% of Sanders voters indicated that they would vote for Joe Biden, while 19% said they would vote for Donald Trump. 7% would vote for a third party, 3% are uncertain and 2% would stay home. In Illinois, 76% of Sanders voters would vote for Joe Biden, 10% would vote for Donald Trump, 9% would vote for a third party, 4% are uncertain and 1% would stay home.

These polls were conducted by Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research and data firm. The Florida poll of 516 likely Democratic primary voters was conducted March 10th through March 12th and has a margin of error of ±4.3%. The Illinois poll of 549 likely Democratic primary voters was conducted March 10th through March 12th and has a margin of error of ±4.2%. These surveys were conducted using interactive voice responses, p2p texting, and an online panel of cell phone users. This poll was not commissioned by any campaign committee or other organization and was paid for by Gravis Marketing. Results are weighted by voting demographics.
